Artist Requirements

Artwork Guidelines

  • Amount – You are welcome to submit up to two (2) pieces for consideration. We will only be displaying one artwork per accepted artist.

  • Media – We are accepting wall-mounted visual artworks of various mediums (paintings, drawings, photographs, three-dimensional works, etc.)

  • Size – Our size limit is 36" (on the longest side). If you are submitting a larger piece, we kindly recommend also submitting a smaller piece to provide options that will help us with capacity.

  • Creation – We are accepting new and recently created works. All submitted artworks must be completed in the past two years and not previously displayed at Stay Gallery.

There is no fee to submit your artwork.

Content Guidelines

  • Intellectual Property Rights – We kindly ask that you respect the work and creative rights of others. Your artwork must be of your own creation, or you must have the rights to use, display and resell a particular artwork. All displayed artworks must comply with right of publicity, trademark and copyright laws.

  • Graphic & Violent Content – Artworks that depict violent events may be evaluated on an educational or artistic expression basis for display. Artworks that promote or glorify graphic language and/or imagery related to violence, death or serious injury will not be displayed.

  • Nudity & Sexual Content – Artworks that depict nudity may be evaluated on an artistic expression basis for display. Artworks depicting explicit sexual content or pornographic language and/or imagery will not be displayed.

  • Hateful & Abusive Content – Artworks that depict content, language and/or imagery that expresses hatred, abuse or violence towards – including but not limited to – a particular race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion, age, disability and/or illness will not be displayed.

Artwork Display

  • Paper Works – We highly encourage works on paper to be framed or matted for display. If you prefer for your piece to be displayed without framing or matting, we will provide heavy duty magnets for a fee of $5 upon drop off.

  • Matted, Framed or Canvas Works – Lightweight works (under 5 lbs) can be dropped off as is, no hardware or wiring required. Heavy works (over 5 lbs) must have D-rings and wire installed upon drop off (no cleats or sawtooth frames). D-ring installation and wiring services are available at the gallery for a fee of $5 upon drop off.

  • Photographs – Please have a print size and print material in mind for your submission. You will be required to submit dimensions and material. If you are planning to get it framed, but have not done so yet, we recommend adding 4 to 8 in to your framed dimensions when submitting.

  • 3D Works – Wall-mounted 3D works may be considered for display. Any special hardware for hanging must be provided by the artist and approved by the Stay Team prior to drop off.
