Inspire Creativity
We empower young artists to unlock their creative potential and develop a personal artistic practice in a safe, supportive environment. Our art classes explore a variety of mediums, techniques and styles, with guidance from professional teaching artists.
We are thrilled to offer lower tuition prices this season, made possible by the generous support of Stonewood Shopping Center and our monthly donors.

Our Team
Our teaching artists have experience working with children of diverse ages and walks of life. They are background-checked, CPR-certified, and currently teach at Downey Unified through our after-school program.

Our Space
Our classes take place at Stay Gallery, a community art gallery and creative space in Downtown Downey. Students work with high-quality art supplies in an inspiring studio surrounded by local artwork.

Our Approach
Our classes focus on exploration, experimentation, and personal expression over perfection. This process-based approach builds confidence, boosts mental and emotional wellbeing, and fosters a lifelong love of art.

Our Community
Students celebrate their creativity and achievements with a gallery showcase at the end of the season! This experience inspires a sense of community, connection, and pride among families and peers.

Free Trials
First-time students are eligible for one free trial class!
Flexible Pricing
Classes can be purchased as a full season (installment plans available), by the month, or for drop-in sessions. We also offer sibling discounts!
Materials
All materials are included. Students registered for a full season will also receive a personal sketchbook and portfolio.

Ages 10-14
Mondays | 6:00 – 7:30pm
Master the art of illustration, from cartoons to character development, using traditional or digital mediums.

Visual Art Studio
Ages 9-12
Tuesdays | 6:00 – 7:30pm
Build visual art skills across a variety of mediums like drawing, painting, mixed media, and more!

Studio Art & Portfolio Development
Ages 10-14
Thursdays | 6:00 – 7:30pm
For young artists looking to refine techniques and develop portfolio-ready artworks.
