Join us this Mother’s Day weekend for a peaceful evening inspired by blooming lotus flowers. In this Paint & Sip experience, you’ll paint a calm pond with soft reflections and delicate blossoms. Our teaching artist Mimi Doyo will guide you step by step, sharing simple painting techniques to bring your scene to life. Bring a mother figure in your life, come with loved ones, or treat yourself to a relaxing night of art, connection, and creativity.
No experience? No problem! We welcome all skill levels. This class is about having fun and making memories, rather than producing a “perfect” painting. We encourage you to paint in a way that feels good for you!

Schedule
Doors Open | 5:30pm
Settle in, grab a drink, and enjoy complimentary charcuterie and sweet bites.
Painting | 6 – 8pm
Live step-by-step art instruction to create your own artwork.
Social Hour | 8 – 9pm
Unwind, mingle, and admire each other’s artwork while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.
Tickets
$45 per person.
Includes paint supplies, one 12x16 take-home canvas, complimentary bites, and one drink of choice. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options available.
A portion of ticket sales go towards free and low-cost arts education programs for local students through our nonprofit organization, Stay Arts. Thank you for your support!

Meet The Artist
Amy (Mimi) Doyo
she/her
Amy (Mimi) Doyo is a Filipino-American artist from Norwalk, CA specializing in introspective acrylic and oil paintings. Her creations draw inspiration from family life, memories and cultural identity. Mimi holds a BFA in Drawing & Painting from CSULB and is currently a teaching artist with Stay Arts.

We will have complimentary charcuterie and light bites available. One drink of choice is included in your ticket, but you are welcome to purchase more at our studio bar. We offer a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited – thank you for understanding.

Stay Studio is located in Downtown Downey between Creamistry and Avenue Press, on the corner of Downey Ave & Firestone Blvd. Free street parking can be found on Downey Avenue or the public parking structure on 2nd & New St.

Due to limited capacity, we will not be accepting walk-ins for this event. We highly encourage you to reserve your tickets early online. We appreciate your understanding!

Full refunds will be given to cancellations with 24 hours notice. Refunds will not be issued to same day cancellations or no shows. Stay Arts reserves the right to cancel events with low sign ups or for unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified with 24 hours notice and refunded.

Stay Studio is located on ground level and is accessible to wheelchair users from the main entrance on Downey Avenue. Trained service animals are welcome. If you have any questions or specific requests, please contact us for assistance before your visit.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. Please stay home if you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Face masks are strongly encouraged inside and attendees are recommended to be vaccinated. Our facility is regularly cleaned and hand sanitizer is available throughout.
