Class & Camp Policies
Studio Expectations
We strive to create a positive, safe, and creative environment for all students.
Students are expected to treat others with kindness, respect, and care – including fellow artists, instructors, staff, and studio materials.
Students must follow the classroom expectations and guidelines provided by their teaching artist, which may vary based on age group and class structure.
All students are encouraged to explore, take creative risks, and approach the art-making process with an open mind.
Behavior Policy
Our goal is always to support student growth through clear communication and positive guidance. If behavioral issues arise, our team will take the following steps:
Verbal reminder of class expectations
Private check-in with the student
Follow-up conversation with a parent or guardian
Removal from class or camp if behavior is persistent, harmful, or creates an unsafe learning environment
Electronics Policy
Phones and tablets may only be used during class or camp with permission from the teaching artist and only for educational purposes, such as looking up reference images or creating digital art. Devices used for unrelated activities (texting, games, or videos) may be held by staff until the end of class. Stay Arts is not responsible for any lost or damaged electronics.
Drop-Off Policy
Our classes and camps are intended to be drop-off only. Parents and guardians are welcome to wait in our front lobby or outdoor seating area during class but are not permitted inside the classroom unless the program is specifically designed for parent participation (as noted on the registration page).
Check-In/Out Policy
All students must be checked in and out by a parent, guardian, or authorized adult. If a student will be walking home or leaving independently, written permission must be submitted in advance to hello@stayarts.org. For everyone’s safety, we ask that parents wait for our front desk staff to complete check-out and provide permission before entering the classroom or leaving with your child.
Cancellations & Refunds
Camp & Full Season Registration – Cancellations must be made five (5) days before the start of camp/class for a full refund to be issued. No refunds will be provided for no shows or cancellations made within five (5) days of the start date. Please keep in mind that last-minute cancellations prevent other students from participating in our programs.
Monthly Registration – Cancellations must be made two (2) days before the start of the first class for a full refund to be issued. No refunds will be provided for no shows or cancellations made within two (2) days of the monthly start date.
Drop-Ins – Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of class for a full refund to be issued. No refunds will be provided for same day cancellations or no shows.
Emergencies – We understand that unforeseen emergencies may prevent a student from attending or completing a class. Cancellation requests that fall outside the above policies will be considered on a case by case basis, with any refunds provided in the form of class credit. Please contact hello@stayarts.org for questions.
Transfer Policy
We understand that schedules can change! Students may request to transfer their registration to a different class or camp, space permitting. Transfer requests must be made before the start of camp or class. We cannot provide transfers retroactively or for no-shows. Please email hello@stayarts.org to request a transfer.
Minimum Enrollment Disclaimer
All classes and camps require a minimum number of students to run. If a program does not meet the required enrollment, Stay Arts reserves the right to cancel or combine classes. In the event of a cancellation, families will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and offered the option of a full refund, class credit, or transfer to a different session.
COVID-19 Policies
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. Please have your child stay home if they are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
Face masks are strongly encouraged inside.
Students are recommended to be vaccinated and boosted.
Hand-sanitizer stations will be accessible throughout the space.
Frequent cleaning and disinfection before, during and after classes.
If your child tests positive for COVID-19 after visiting Stay Gallery, please contact our team at (562) 774-2056 so that we can implement COVID-19 safety procedures and contact exposed students and staff to limit further spread.
Photo Release
Stay Arts may photograph or record classes for promotional purposes, including but not limited to, flyers, brochures, websites, social media, and advertisements. By participating, parents or guardians grant us permission to use photographs, videos or recordings of their child for these purposes.
Liability Waiver
While we take every precaution to ensure the safety of our students, participation in our classes and camps may involve inherent risks.
Parents and guardians agree to release, waive and hold harmless Stay Arts and our organization, its staff, volunteers, or affiliates from all liability, claims, penalties, costs, losses, damages, expenses or judgements resulting from illness, injury, death or damage from participation in our classes and camps.
